Dudley is the uncle of Billy Batson, and Shazam's greatest fan.
Description[]
Uncle Dudley is a relative of Billy Batson and is shown to be a senior adult of medium height who is stocky and portly in build with wisps of gray hair on his largely bald head. He is an amiable, easy-going person but is concerned for the welfare of his young nephew, Billy. His favorite exclamation is "Holy Guacamole!"
He lives in a motorhome (called an 'RV') where he sometimes plays host to Billy whom he knows is Shazam. When the latter goes on a mission, Dudley can be seen nearby, directing the public to safety and shouting encouragement to the superhero. In Dudley's only story, Mister Mxyzptlk falsely poses as the Wizard in order to grant Dudley super-powers and make him into the bumbling Captain Bamboozle. These powers consist of some usual ones (flight, super-strength) and a ridiculous "food power" that causes snacks to rain down on him from above. He can also suck up an entire swimming pool of water into his belly and blow it onto a fire. While in this guise, he wears a costume identical to that of Shazam but with a turned-up collar on the cape.
Captain Bamboozle only causes mayhem, and he loses his powers as soon as he tricks Mxyzptlk into saying his name backwards.
