Justice League Action Wiki

A space cab driver, and a friend of the Justice League.

Description[]

Space Cabbie is a young man of medium height with fair skin and red hair. He wears a tight gray suit with a red bowtie and a gray peaked cap that has a brass plate across the front. Although he appears to be an adult, he is youthful in character and, being a cab driver, is good humored and chatty, offering advice to his passengers.

He tells us that he is a "loyal employee of the 9-Planet Taxi company", and he drives a rocket-powered vehicle through space that has the style of a New York 'Yellow cab' with a taxi sign on top.

It is said to have a "trans warp drive with a triple fusion power core", and can jump through hyperspace, even reaching Apokolips and New Genesis. In one story, it temporarily has a "Galactic Positioning System" device that can plot intercept courses when in pursuit of another vehicle.

In his encounters with the Justice League, Cabbie is anxious to assist them against super-villains even to the point of risking his life. Even if he is reluctant, he can be bribed with a higher fare and tip. When dealing with villains, Cabbie can mislead them by using his extensive knowledge of destinations in space, and the League can track his cab if he leaves the radio on. To assist him, he has a small 'droid' called Jack that can drive the cab and effect repairs to it and is able to handle and dispose of dangerous substances like kryptonite. The nearest thing to a weapon that he has is his cell phone which can be used to confuse an opponent by letting it flash into their eyes. A grappling hook can be shot from from the trunk of his cab to ensnare a foe.

Cabbie always tries to collect his fare from the Justice League but can waive it in return for a selfie with them to add to his collection. Some of these are hidden under the sun visor in his vehicle. His cab often gets damaged when on League business but it is not said who pays for the repairs. He can give driving lessons to League members.

He considers Roxy Rocket to be his passenger-carrying rival, and in his private life he mentions that he likes to flirt with Darlene (not seen in the series) at Al's Diner. He also lets us know his attraction to Wonder Woman. The wacky Bizarro considers him to be "the smartest man in the galaxy" just because of his ability to give directions.
