Description[]
Sid Sharp is shown as a mature man who is heavy and rotund with short legs, and whose face is enlarged by a double chin. He wears a gray business suit. In personality he is overbearing and obnoxious, and in conversation is always on the offensive and attempts to intimidate others with insults. He even does this with Superman and Darkseid. His domination of discourse allows him to be very manipulative.
He works as a reporter for the Daily Planet newspaper and is a rival of Clark Kent for obtaining scoops about Superman's activities. In order to compete with Clark's close contact with Superman, Sid adopts the alias of the fake superhero Doctor Scoop in order to generate his own stories.
His boss, Perry White, points out that it will not work because he is not a superhero. When he presents his reports they read more like fiction.
Superman has to admit that on one occasion he was saved from the clutches of Darkseid by Sid's ability to sow division amongst his opponents.

- Sid Sharp is unique to this series and his appearance seems to be modeled on that of his voice actor, Jon Lovitz.
- His design resembles Rupert Thorne from "Batman: The Animated Series".
