The 'pseudo-gods' who include Darkseid and his followers.

Description[]

General[]

The New Gods are only mentioned once by name but with what we know from elsewhere they must include Darkseid, his entourage, and others (Desaad is said to be one) who have a connection with the planets Apokolips and New Genesis (see below) and are associated with the 'Mother Box' and 'Boom Tube' technologies. Other than Darkseid, they are not obviously like gods but do refer to humans as "mortals". It is not clear where Apokolips is, but the leading inhabitants use a mixture of god-like powers, weaponry and other technology to assist their leader, Darkseid, in his plan to conquer and rule the universe. There is an army of 'parademons' to do the fighting and kidnapping, and Apokolips has a fleet of spaceships that travel by Boom Tube to perform invasions of other planets. There are human collaborators on Earth to assist with Darkseid's operations there.

Darkseid's Elite[]

We are told that Darkseid's inner circle is "legion and mighty" and in one instance it is called "Darkseid's Elite" and, although only Kanto is said to be a member, it can be safely assumed that Desaad, Granny Goodness and others who are seen in Darkseid's company are also in its ranks. Another likely affiliate is Steppenwolf, who appears to have a military command function, and the fugitive Mister Miracle may have been a member in the past.

The Female Furies[]

Although not mentioned by name, a team of female warriors led by Granny Goodness can be confidently identified with the Female Furies that are known from elsewhere. They include Bernadeth and Lashina, and it is likely that Big Barda was a member in the past.

New Genesis[]

In addition to Apokolips, New Genesis is mentioned twice, and we know from elsewhere that it is the heavenly compliment to hellish Apokolips and is inhabited by 'good' versions of the New Gods. We are told that Batman and Superman have visited the place on separate occasions, and Mister Miracle ought to have originated there but this is not mentioned.
