Description[]
Metropolis, the setting for many of the episodes, is represented as a bright, modern city with futuristic architecture and busy streets lined with skyscrapers.
The city is next to the sea (probably the Atlantic) and has the usual amenities - like a public park.
Prominent places are Metropolis University, S.T.A.R. Labs and Stryker's Island prison, but the most famous landmark must be the Daily Planet building with its distinguishing globe.
More oddly, the United Nations are shown to be based in a building in the city.
In addition to modern roads with flyovers and underpasses, there are elevated, precarious-looking monorails for light trains.
Metropolis was also the base for the Justice League at the Hall of Justice until it was destroyed. The current headquarters, the Watchtower, is on an island out to sea from which the skyscrapers of the city can be seen in the distance.
