An evil 'pseudo-god', and member of Darkseid's Elite.
Description[]
Desaad is depicted as being of medium height and frail in build with pale and drawn skin like a corpse. He wears a purple knee-length gown with wide sleeves over loose leggings and boots, and has a loose hood over his head. His palid face usually has either an evil grin or an angry grimace. Speaking with a well spoken but aged voice and gesticulating with his hands, he is deferential towards his master, Darkseid, calling him, "the God of Apokolips," and rebukes those who are less than reverent.
He is one of Darkseid's Elite and, as the main advisor, proposes plans of action. Desaad is also seen in command of a fleet of spaceships crewed by parademons and enjoys torturing the prisoners there. He can be seen using weapons like a kryptonite gun to deal with Superman or a heat ray to dry out Swamp Thing. On his belt he has a small 'Mother Box' that he uses to make local 'Boom Tube' jumps, and, while in Darkseid's throne room, stands on a floating, moving disk.
On Earth, Desaad knows the Joker and provides him with weaponry.
