A super-villain, and the leader of the Red Lantern Corps.
Description[]
Atrocitus appears as tall and muscular with a drawn, brown-skinned, reptilian-like face and large yellow eyes. The red costume on his torso appears to be made of stiff armor plates, he has black tights on his legs, and on his head has something like a head cloth that hangs down at the back and sides. In a deep, resonant voice, he commands those about him, expecting absolute obedience, and leads through fear, blaming others for mistakes. He gives an angry, terrifying glance to those who challenge his authority when he bears and grits his teeth like a savage animal. As well as obedience, Atrocitus expects to be protected by his subordinates and will not tolerate failure from them. Zilius Zox considers him to be the "Scourge of the Galaxy" but also says that he is miserly.
He is the leader of the Red Lantern Corps (and addressed as "Master") and so makes use of the 'Power Ring' on his right hand which causes the red glow around him as he is about to fly or go into action. In combat this will protect him and must be the cause of his ability to exchange blows with Superman. Atrocitus can create a red mace in either hand to deal with opponents or shoot a red, flame-like blast from his mouth.
He can be devious and will use deception to allow another Red Lantern to carry out a plan - like sending his most loyal lieutenant, Dex-Starr, to sneakily break into the Watchtower. However, even though he tells us that he loathes superheroes, Atrocitus is level-headed enough to know when to cooperate with them.
